The Greeting Committee - Everybody’s gone and i know i’m the cause Reivew
Release Date: June 21, 2024
It was exciting to see The Greeting Committee return with their third LP, and based on the singles released beforehand, I expected a shift toward a more mainstream pop sound. One of those singles, Popmoneyhits, even directly addresses that idea. But what we got instead was an album rooted in themes of change, reflection, and acceptance—less about chasing trends and more about evolving naturally.
The LP feels like a continuation of The Greeting Committee’s journey, staying true to their indie roots while embracing a more polished production style. Addie’s voice and lyricism remain among the band’s strongest elements, bringing an emotional depth that ties everything together. That said, I don’t find myself listening to the full album often. While there are standout tracks that I keep coming back to, the rest doesn’t fully pull me in. Still, those few songs hit hard, proving that The Greeting Committee continues to make music worth returning to.
