Faye Webster - underdressed at the symphony Review

Release Date: March 1, 2024

Listening to Underdressed at the Symphony took me a while. I spent all spring and summer barely making it past the opening track, Thinking About You—not because I was captivated by it, but because it gave me the impression that the whole album would be much more muted. But as I eventually dove deeper, I realized that wasn’t the case at all.

Faye Webster’s vocals are entrancing, and her songwriting carries a quiet, knowing wisdom. She has a way of making even the simplest moments feel meaningful, weaving soft yet impactful storytelling throughout the album.

This record is a mood—one that’s best enjoyed as a full experience. But even if you don’t listen front to back, there are plenty of standout tracks worth picking out and adding to your favorite playlist.
