Kendrick lamar - GNX Review

Release Date: November 22 , 2024

Kendrick had a lot to get off his chest. GNX feels like a late-year summary of everything on his mind—a reflection of a busy year for one of the greatest rappers of our time. His love for LA is once again at the forefront, as he leans even further into West Coast sounds and production, making this album feel like a homecoming in many ways.

Unlike DAMN., this record is far less political, but that doesn’t mean Kendrick isn’t saying something important. His sharp lyricism is still in full force, offering commentary on the world around him, just with a more personal, laid-back approach. GNX plays like a callback to his early mixtape days—nothing too heavy, but undeniably impressive. It’s Kendrick in his element, effortlessly delivering bars over beats that feel both nostalgic and fresh.
