The Lemon twigs - A dream is a ll we know review
Release Date: May 3, 2024
When I played A Dream Is All I Know for my parents, their immediate reaction was to compare it to The Beach Boys—and I completely agree. The album feels angelic, drenched in lush harmonies and vintage production that makes it sound like it was pulled straight from the ‘60s or ‘70s. First-time listeners almost always assume it’s from that era, which is a testament to how well The Lemon Twigs capture the spirit of classic rock while making it feel fresh. Oddly enough, my dad’s two favorite tracks ended up being mine as well.
Maybe it’s because this is my first time fully diving into a Lemon Twigs album, but their influences are incredibly apparent. Yet, despite their clear reverence for the past, their music never feels derivative. Instead, it’s an homage in sound while remaining entirely original within today’s musical landscape. The songs are undeniably catchy, and this record makes it obvious just how musically savvy and innovative the D’Addario brothers and their bandmates truly are.
